5 Days To Go!

Ok, excitement is building as the trip draws nearer and nearer. This weekend Deb's SV was lowered - she can almost flat foot the bike now! Erik added a 12v accessory socket to his, Rebecca worked on her ammo can saddle bags some more (but didn't finish), and Gavin got his new Aerostitch Darien jacket and pants. He looks like a fireman, but it's a pretty spiffy getup and it matches his bike very nicely. Gavin also got some new boots, Rebecca and Erik both added new bungee nets to their stash, and multiple lists of "to do" and "to buy" are being compiled.

We all agree that while this seems like a very expensive trip, it's really just the quick gathering of supplies and gear that would normally occur over an extended period of time. Tents, sleeping bags, luggage... these will all last years and we will all be ready for any trip after this, be it overnight, long weekend, or six months around the world!
